Belle Isle kitsch

Music by the River will continue with the Karen Jonas Band from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. The alternative country/Americana show will include tracks from the 2024 release, “The Rise and Fall of American Kitsch,” available August 9. The storytelling promises a little country, a little Elvis, a little rockabilly and a lot of fun. Jonas is a four-time Washington Area Music Award (Wammie) winner for Best Country and American Artist/Group, Mid Atlantic Song Contest winner, Ameripolitan Award nominee and official SXSW and UK Americanfest Showcasing Artist. The band includes guitarist Tim Bray, bassist Seth Morrisey and percussionist Seth Brown. Families are urged to bring a picnic and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening in the park.
