Incorporated December 1, 1986, the Ben D. Conley Charitable and Educational Foundation now celebrates its 35th anniversary.
The foundation was established to support nonprofits and students in Lancaster and Northumberland counties per the instructions of Benjamin Delano Conley and his wife, Virginia. The couple were residents of Wicomico and had a passion for community, education and the well-being of others.
To date, the foundation has given over $1.5 million to students and non-profits in the lower Northern Neck. In 2021 alone, $56,000 was awarded to students and another $116,000 to organizations.
