
PORTLAND, OR—Bernadette A. “Bernie” Hann passed away in Portland, Ore., on August 19, 2022, at the age of 99.
Bernie was born in Baltimore, Md., on February 11, 1923, and was predeceased by her husband, Raymond C. Hann; parents, George Schott and Mary (Bardelman) Schott; and her six siblings.
Bernadette graduated from The Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore and worked in Civil Service most of her adult life. After retirement she and Ray moved to Weems, where she lived for over 30 years. Bernie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and volunteered for many years at Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
She was generous and giving all her life and after death, by becoming a brain donor for Alzheimer’s research.
Bernie is survived by her daughter, Bonny Fazzi and husband (Michael); granddaughter, Sutton Long (Gretchen Bay); grandson, Stuart Long (Morgan); and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Harrison and Briana.
She will be buried at Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church, next to her husband in a private ceremony.
