LIVELY—Sometimes it is in simplicity that things become focused and impactful. The Bethel-Emmanuel United Methodist Men’s Group on Monday, May 30, held a Memorial Day service at the Bethel UMC cemetery in Lively to recognize its veterans who have died, reading each of the 176 names.
Some veterans were buried or interned at Bethel, others at Arlington National Cemetery or elsewhere in the country. Regardless, the simple act of reading their names highlighted the personal, individual contributions and sacrifice of each.
