REEDVILLE—Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Forrester Day, 80, of Reedville, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in VCU Medical Center, Richmond.
Born in Tibitha in Northumberland County, she was a 1958 graduate of Northumberland High School and a 1962 graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg. Betty was a caring wife and mother and treasured her seven grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic sports fan—especially Virginia Tech Football. She was an avid reader, favoring British mysteries and best-selling novels.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Spurgeon “Jim” Day; her sons, James Michael Day (Judy Muns Day), Robert Neil Day and Stuart Morrison Day (Dana Holland Day); and her seven grandchildren, Hayden, Carolyn, Henry, Zane, Zoey, Ella and Jack.
Her wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes scattered on local waters. A memorial service at Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, will be planned later.
