Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) alumnus Keyondra Owens and his fraternity, Iota Phi Theta, recently organized a back-to-school backpack giveaway block party.
The event took place at the BGCNN Kilmarnock site. Alongside the fraternity, multiple individuals, local businesses and organizations came together to donate backpacks and back-to-school supplies. The Pull Up food truck and other vendors including Jazz & Nyah’s and Co-Legendz fed the crowd of more than 100.
The community came together to help Owens’ vision of giving back to the club and the community’s kids by helping them go back to school with the supplies they need. Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital donated 100 backpacks, and the fraternity had a donation link….
