The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM) recently hosted a plein air art camp under the Wendell G. Haynie pavilion.
The curriculum included drawing and painting in the outdoors, said executive director Shauna McCranie. The subject matter included things “near and dear” to the RFM like the William Walker House. The Walker house built in 1875, represents a watermen’s home at the turn of the previous century. It was the first home of the RFM and is hailed as the oldest standing home in Reedville.
The house is complete with an outdoor kitchen, dog trot and chamber pot. Students loved taking a step back in time as they toured….
