Bon Secours RGH to present the Power of Pink October 4

Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital invites the community to celebrate the Power of Pink with a breast cancer awareness event from 5-7 p.m. October 4 at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.

“Last year’s event was a great success in bringing together members of our community who have been touched in some way by breast cancer,” said RGH imaging manager Chris Shepperson. “Our goal is to continue to create a sense of togetherness for our participants, while also sharing education and resources available locally.”

In early 2018, RGH obtained the area’s first 3-D mammography unit, thanks to the generosity of Seconds Unlimited Thrift Shop and RGH Foundation donations.

“RGH’s 3-D mammography unit is a shining example of strong community support and a desire to advance healthcare and well-being in the Northern Neck,” said Shepperson.

Featured speaker Peter Van Geertruyden, MD, will present the overall benefits of 3-D breast tomosynthesis…
