The Rappahannock Concert Association will present in concert the Borealis Wind Quintet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Performing Arts Theater, Northumberland High School, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville.
The quintet was formed in 1976 at the Juilliard School of Music and is acclaimed as one of America’s preeminent chamber ensembles, reported Nellie Landrum. The highest musical integrity, irresistible energy and five-fold charisma distinguish Borealis in the chamber music field.
Their programming includes classics, engaging commissioned works, opera arias and works for piano and winds. The Borealis recordings number five with a 2006 Grammy nomination in the Chamber Music Category, said Landrum.
Adult tickets are $25 each with group rates available. Students are always free. Tickets may be purchased at rappahannockconcerts.org, or call box office, 866-217-8149.
