Cam Seldon commits to play at Tennessee

HEATHSVILLE—In little over a year, Cameron “Cam” Seldon will trade in his Indian green and gold for orange and white to call Rocky Top his home.

The Northumberland High School senior made his official announcement among family, friends and school staff last week, verbally committing to play football in 2023 at The University of Tennessee (UT). Seldon is the first Northumberland player to commit to a Power 5 conference school. NCAA Division 1 Tennessee plays in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) against football powerhouses like Alabama, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

Seldon, 17, of Browns Store, chose UT over other Power 5 choices Penn State and Maryland, whose coaches had courted Seldon by visiting him at NHS in the early spring. Penn State’s coaches landed their helicopter….
