
KILMARNOCK—Carol Jean Kapitan, 77, of Kilmarnock died on March 17, 2018. She was a Parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock.
Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Chuck) Stevens and Anastasia Kapitan; her son, Peter (Monica) Kapitan; three grandchildren, Jack Stevens, Annie Stevens and Nicole Kapitan; sister, Wilma Griffin; brother, Earl (Ila) Riddlebarger; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Peter Kapitan; her parents, Jasper and Minnie Riddlebarger; and sisters, Virginia Fordyce, Faye Corelli and Pauline White.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Infant Jesus of Prague Council, Farm Bureau and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She also was a Third Order member of the St. Joseph’s Secular Carmel of Port Tobacco.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Currie Funeral Home. A Wake Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. and a Rosary will be held 6:30 p.m.
