Wilford H. Ball Jr.

HEATHSVILLE—Wilford “Willie” Henry Ball Jr., 95, passed peacefully March 14, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Anderson Ball; his parents, Connie Thomas Ball and Wilford Henry Ball; and sisters, Annie B. Brock and Leola B. Flora.

He is survived by his wife, Constance Worrell Ball; son, Wilford H. Ball III (Jeri); daughters, M. Suzanne Ball and Kimberly A. Ball; and grandchildren, Jason Ball (Kelli) and Kathryn Ball; and great-grandchildren, Michael Ball and Hannah Ball.

Willie was born in Cumberland County and grew up in Norfolk. He was a member of Kilmarnock United Methodist Church.

He served as a tail gunner on a B-29 in World War II. Willie was a prominent Richmond business owner of Ball-Martin Insurance Agency.

The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. at Bliley’s – Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, Richmond.

A funeral ceremony was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Bliley’s – Chippenham. Interment followed at Powhatan Community Cemetery.
