Cat group withdraws from AWL

KILMARNOCK—The Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck Inc. (AWL) this week announced that a group of volunteers calling itself the “Cat Team” has withdrawn its affiliation without notice from the venerable Kilmarnock-based animal welfare organization.

“We learned several days ago that in January of this year, a group within AWL interested in addressing the feral cat population in ways that are not aligned with AWL philosophy, had formed a new group to address this population in ways that better fit their own point of view,” said AWL president Sara Ford.
