
The Lancaster County Board of Supervisors on Thursday, January 27, unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing the outstanding athletic accomplishments of Lancaster High School senior Hailey Smith.
Smith has had quite a run during her time on the LHS cross country, indoor track and track and field teams. She has been named the Region A Cross Country Runner of the Year for four consecutive years from 2018-21. She holds the school record for the 400-, 500-, 800- 1000- and 1600-meter events. Smith is also a repeat State Champion, winning the Class 1A state title in the 800 meter in 2019 and 2020; and in cross county in 2021.
Board chairman Ernest Palin noted Smith’s “exemplary dedication and determination” as well as the board’s “admiration for her outstanding accomplishments.”
