Charges pending against waterfowl hunters

WARSAW—The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Conservation Police partners with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to catch illegal waterfowl hunters.

On November 19, Virginia Conservation Police Sergeant Bumgarner and USFWS special agents were on patrol for waterfowl hunting activity in the Northern Neck. Just after legal shooting time, the officers heard a high volume of gunshots coming from a nearby swamp in Richmond County, reported DWR.

The officers made their way to the area of the gunshots and located two waterfowl hunters returning to their vehicle. The officers met with the hunters and immediately noticed a large number of ducks in a pile next to….
