Miss Haynie crowned Holly Ball queen

Jessica Lynn Haynie on December 28 was crowned queen of the 126th Holly Ball at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.

A student at Christopher Newport University, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Haynie of Reedville. She was escorted by Joseph Berkeley Kellum of Weems.

Queen Haynie chose as her attendants Hallie Elizabeth Shackleford and Olivia Lynne Saunders, reported Amy Beane of the committee. Haynie was crowned by the orator of the evening, Charles Harrison Williams III, who was chosen by 2020-21 reigning Queen Elle McKee Williams.

As is tradition, Queen Williams chose a local organization to raise funds for their charitable works. This year’s contributions to the queen’s service project will go to the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsula’s Safety Around Water program. Queen Williams raised $8,400 for the….
