HEATHSVILLE—Charlotte Capps Braxton, 78, of Heathsville passed away on June 28, 2022.

She was predeceased by her mother, Erma Mae Capps; father, Ervin Howard Capps; and grandson, Carter Braxton Mann.

She is survived by her husband, Alf Braxton, of 59 years; daughter, Jennifer Braxton Myers,(Mike) of Spotsylvania; her daughter, Marie Mann of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Joseph Howard Mann (Jennifer) of Reedville, Elizabeth Mann of Afton, Hunter Braxton Myers of Spotsylvania and Madison Layne Myers of Spotsylvania; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Carson, Brenan, Chloe, Isiah and Kyle; and her cherished cat, Ms. Kitty Rose.

She was an avid antique dealer and business owner for 48 years between Fredericksburg and Burgess. She retired in 2019 from her final business of the Burgess House, where she enjoyed many visits from her loyal customers over the years.

Charlotte enjoyed a full and active life, always looking forward to an early spring, as she loved her time gardening, fishing and being outdoors and on the water. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was active in her church and enjoyed serving others. Her service was instrumental in nurturing her own Christian walk which allowed her to grow spiritually and serve the Lord. She truly appreciated the relationships that she formed with her church family.

A celebration of life for Charlotte Braxton will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Afton United Methodist Church, 5130 Hacks Neck Road, Heathsville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Afton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 579, Burgess, VA 22432.
