Chesapeake Academy closes 2019-20 school year with drive-through assembly

“Welcome to the strangest closing assembly Chesapeake Academy has ever had,” exclaimed head of school Julianne Duvall, as she opened her remarks to a caravan of families parading through campus waving from decorated cars and hearing her via Facebook Live.

To flog a baseball metaphor she continued, “After we got all the way around to third base successfully in this school year (three marking periods), this last stretch to home has been rough. We’ve thrown ourselves down the third baseline and now we’ve slid head first into home plate. Stand up, dust yourself off, raise your arms in victory. Give a high five to your ‘quaranteam.’ We did it!”
