Following a national search, the Chesapeake Academy (CA) board of trustees recently announced Catherine L. Emery has been named head of school. The board’s unanimous decision to select Emery as the 13th head of school followed the recommendation of the search committee after a nearly six-month search process.
Previously serving as dean of students and assistant head of school, Emery was appointed interim head of school on July 1.
“In a short time, Catherine has demonstrated to our school community that she is not only well suited for this new challenge but is also the best person to lead our school at this time,” said board chairman John Clair. “No one embodies the Chesapeake Academy culture more deeply than Catherine and as a past CA parent and teacher she is uniquely positioned to….
