Classrooms are taking shape as Chesapeake Academy’s teachers return for the new school year. Some new faces have joined the throng and some familiar faces will be playing new roles.
“I am excited about our talented and enthusiastic faculty,” said head of school Julianne T. Duvall. “This collegial group of professionals is ready to present a dynamic, effective program for the Academy’s students.”
Nina Thompson, a native Spanish speaker retired from a career as an administrative assistant in foreign service and will be teaching seventh- and eighth-grade Spanish.
Catherine Emery and Sara Condrey will be adding their talents to the writer’s workshop team this year. Emery has a background in education and journalism and contributes to various publications as a freelance writer. Condrey, a published author, is also excited to be sharing trade secrets with growing writers.
