Chorale to present ‘America Sings’

The Reedville Festival Chorale, under the direction of Sharon Freude, will celebrate America’s birthday with music at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville. The program will include familiar patriotic music, 1940s pop, the calypso rhythms of Harry Belafonte, spiritual exuberance of Andre Thomas, wistful songs inspired by poets such as Langston Hughes and favorite compositions by George M. Cohan, Irving Berlin and Marvin Hamlisch, reported Jeanne Hickey.
