REEDVILLE—Santa Claus arrived by boat at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM) on Saturday, December 6, to launch Christmas in Reedville festivities.
His scheduled ride, Elva C, was a bit “Grinchy” so he came in on the small but mighty Fannie instead, reported RFM public relations volunteer Tina McCloud. A crowd of children and their grownups gave him a hearty welcome, with “Hey Santa!” and bells heard as he came up Cockrell Creek.
Santa, the Conductor from Polar Express and Buddy the Elf then greeted everyone in the model shop, where the trains were running. All then walked next door to Bethany United Methodist Church, where they could see more than 50 Nativity scenes from around the world and enjoy photos, crafts and cookies.
Lighting of the community crab basket tree at Watermen’s Park capped off the day.
