Churches receive justice after string of break-ins

LANCASTER—In a plea deal crafted by Commonwealth’s Attorneys of both Lancaster and Northumberland counties by partnering with 12 area churches, Deondre Ta-von Lampkin of Kilmarnock on Friday, February 2, pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Circuit Court to one felony count of entering a structure to commit larceny and was given an active sentence of six years.

As part of the plea deal, all related charges of breaking and entering, larceny and destruction of property in both counties were nolle prossed. 

The charges all stemmed from a string of church break-ins and burglaries in February and March 2023 when 12 churches were burglarized, two of them twice. Lampkin was arrested on March 11 when he was caught breaking into Sharon Baptist Church in Weems….
