Clarke to succeed Dunton as Tidewater Foundation president

KILMARNOCK—Ammon Gresham Dunton Jr. was recognized at the January Tidewater Foundation meeting for his tireless service as president of the Tidewater Foundation Inc. He faithfully served the foundation as its president for 29 years.

The Holly Ball, with origins dating from 1895, is the fundraising arm of the foundation, and monies raised are distributed annually to the community. Dunton has always taken personal pride in distributing the funds to deserving charities whose missions align with the altruistic vision of the foundation.

Annually, in February, the recipients of the proceeds are invited to receive their respective donations and speak about the work that these charities provide.
