The descendants of Dandridge W. and Naomi Bush Cockrell will hold their 40th family reunion on July 20 at the Blaine Center in Lively.
Holding a reunion annually on the third Saturday of July is a family tradition, reported Audrey Lowery. The first Cockrell family reunion was held in 1984, and there were still five living grandchildren out of 28 along with many family descendants of Dandridge W. and Naomi Bush Cockrell.
The first reunion was held at Providence Church near Miskimon, where several of their sons were founders and builders of the church. It was well attended. The next few years the reunions were held at Kirkland Grove….
