Walk on the Wild Side in search of ‘Pollinators & Native Plants’

Volunteers with the Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists will lead a Walk on the Wild Side from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. The theme is “Pollinators & Native Plants.”

This walk is open to everyone although sign-up is requested, and all will meet at the Camp Store and venture off from there. To register, call 462-5030.

Belle Isle State Park, with its seven miles of river shoreline, is home to several different ecological communities including managed meadow areas, ponds, marshes and forests. Although the area is experiencing drought-like conditions, this walk will search for blooming plants and pollinators throughout….
