Commencement 2022 slated Saturday, May 21

Graduation ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, for the Class of 2022 at both Lancaster and Northumberland high schools.

In Lancaster, 90 students will walk across the stage on the school’s athletic field.

Speakers will include class president Ainsley Mumford and top students of the class. The names of the valedictorian and salutatorian were not available at press time. Acting superintendent of schools Jessica Davis will confer the diplomas.

Graduates were each issued tickets for 15 guests. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors and students will be limited to 10 ticketed guests.

In Northumberland, there are also 90 students to receive diplomas. The ceremony will be conducted on the high school athletic field.

The valedictorian and salutatorian, whose names have not yet been released, will speak during the ceremony, as well as senior class president Grant Biddlecomb and student council president Mackenzie Vanlandingham. Superintendent of schools Holly Wargo will confer the diplomas.

Photos of all the graduates can be found on special pages in the print or electronic editions of this week’s Rappahannock Record. SUBSCRIBE
