LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, April 29, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
Clinton R. Chewning of Weems, charged with a felony for malicious wounding, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for assault and battery. He was sentenced to 156 days and ordered to pay $287 in court costs. Chewning was also charged with three felonies for failing to comply with pre-trial conditions. Those charges were nolle prossed as part of the plea agreement.
Chewning still faces four felony charges for violating probation. A related hearing is scheduled June 3.

The jury trial of David M. Green of Lancaster, charged with a misdemeanor for sexual battery; a felony for malicious wounding; a felony for object sexual penetration by force; a felony for abduction by force or intimidation; a felony for strangling with injury as a result; and a felony for assault with the victim injured as a result; was withdrawn and continued until….
