LANCASTER—Unlike many high schools across the country, Lancaster High School (LHS) will hold a fairly traditional graduation ceremony on Saturday, August 1—at least as traditional as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Virginia Health Department guidelines will allow.
According to LHS principal Tara Booth, the ceremony will take place outside, weather permitting, with the 85 graduating seniors celebrating 10 at a time and each senior having up to eight guests.
The mini ceremonies, by invitation only, will begin at 9 a.m. and be spaced out roughly an hour apart. Guests will be seated seven feet apart and all attendees will be “strongly encouraged to wear face coverings,” Booth said.
