St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville on April 7 received its newest member, Patti Boerger, and celebrated the reaffirmation of faith of its second-newest member, Matthew Stevens. Both events were celebrated when The Rt. Rev. David Jones, retired bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, visited St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Fleeton.
Boerger, who was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and was received, described what led her to take this step. “For years I drove past the church with my family.
