Correction on superintendent/school board suit

In previous stories, it has been reported that Steven Parker, former superintendent of Lancaster County Public Schools, is seeking $750 million in his discrimination and defamation lawsuit against the school board and two of its members. This number was based on information listed in the case summary of the court filing in the U.S. District Court.

However, Parker’s attorney, James Thorsen, in responding to a request to verify the financial claims in the lawsuit, said, “We do not request a specific dollar amount. Our client’s damages are substantial, but no, we have not demanded $750 million.”

Thorsen said he has no idea where the court might have gotten that number.
