County administrator suggests budget cuts in Northumberland

HEATHSVILLE—With the clock ticking to finalize a budget, Northumberland County supervisors on Tuesday, June 10, reviewed a list of potential budget cuts, suggested by county administrator Luttrell Tadlock, as they attempt to pare down the $49.1 million proposed budget and shore up the undesignated fund balance.

Tadlock presented $1,566,324 in potential cuts—$162,506 in general administration, $16,522 in judicial administration, $190,251 in public safety, $2,000 in public works, $158,266 in health and welfare, $636,272 in education, $5,000 in parks and recreation and $395,507 in capital funding.
