LANCASTER—As expected, Lancaster voter registrar Susan P. Jett reports a record turnout is in the works for town elections in Irvington, Kilmarnock and White Stone.
The turnout is already greater than in all other past town elections and voters still have through Tuesday, May 19, to cast their ballots, said Jett.
“Mailed voting has shown to be a good way to get voters to participate,” she said.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jett for weeks has encouraged registered voters in the three towns to vote absentee by mail. As of May 12, Irvington had a mailed voting turnout of 63%, Kilmarnock, 40%, and White Stone, 36%, she said.
