Curry to speak about recording the stories of the Northern Neck

The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) and Lancaster Community Library (LCL) will host a presentation by Pixie E. Curry, “Telling the Stories of the Northern Neck,” at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

As the host and producer of the new audio series, “A Pixie from Kilmarnock,” Curry highlights the people, places and history of her hometown region, especially documenting Black lives and experiences, to enrich everyone’s understanding of the Northern Neck.

The presentation is the concluding program of the “A Special Evening With…” summer series held in conjunction with the LCL Adult Summer Reading Program. Admission is free and no reservations are needed. The program also will be live streamed on the LCL facebook page and recorded.

“Curry will discuss her work to collect and share interviews of interesting people connected to local history, heritage, culture and current events,” said LVHS executive director Karen Hart. “She will also speak about how her personal life experiences, including growing….
