KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board last week appointed former assistant superintendent Dan Russell superintendent of Lancaster County schools.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the community and students of Lancaster County. I am humbled by the amount of support I have received in this process and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve such a wonderful community,” Russell said.
Members of the school board voted unanimously, 5-0, on May 14 to award a three-year contract to Russell, who has served as assistant superintendent since 2014.
