Strawberries with a smile

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6807 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, will host the 110th annual Heathsville Strawberry Festival from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Above, A’aliya Starks, a seventh grader who volunteered to help at last year’s festival, offers strawberries with a smile. Every year about a dozen local girls volunteer to help the church serve the more than 5,000 people who attend. The festival offers free admission and parking to enjoy more than 100 craft artists, strawberry shortcakes and baked goods, native plants, music and food trucks.
