
TANGIER ISLAND—Dana Keith Dise, 71, of Tangier Island passed away on June 23, 2025.
Born September 20, 1953, on Tangier, he was a son of the late Adrian Ewell Dise and Gladys Marie Bowden Dise.
Dana attended Tangier Combined School and was a lifelong waterman and also owned a tire repair shop. In his teenage years, he worked for Ed Tyndall’s grocery store and Ray Crockett’s crab plant.
Very active in his community, he was a faithful member of Swain Memorial Church and served on the Tangier Town Council.
Dana enjoyed being at his crab house and working on his boat. He loved his family immensely and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Parks Dise of Tangier; children, Christa Dise Dameron and husband Jason of Mila, and Dustin Dise and wife Kristen of Hardyville; grandchildren, Julia Dise, Claire Dise and Riley Dameron; brother, George Cannon of Tangier; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, JoAnne Cooper, Karen Parks and Larry Dise.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Swain Memorial Church on Tangier, where a time of sharing was held from 1-2 p.m. Rev. Charles Parks officiated and speakers were Jerry Frank Pruitt and Allen Parks.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Tangier Fire Department or to Swain Memorial Church.
