In the immortal words of Dean Martin, “Baby, it’s cold outside,” as evidenced by ice on the Chesapeake Bay (above) and tributaries. Cold weather gripped the Northern Neck, the Commonwealth and much of the East Coast several days before Christmas and it’s not letting go anytime soon. According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, another period of frigid weather is on the way this weekend with temperatures likely to drop into the single digits again tomorrow night, January 5, and Saturday, January 6. Snow was in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, January 3 and 4. Photo by Daniel Schiavo
