Delma S. W. Rose

Delma S. W. Rose

WEEMS—Delma Sebra Walker Rose passed on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

She was born at Rehoboth Church on February 23, 1937, and resided in Lancaster growing up. She is one of 13 siblings and is survived by her twin sister, Thelma Rowe of White Stone; and one brother, Franklin Sebra of Newport News.

She has always been a happy person and loved everyone. She was truly a people person.

Delma worked hard her whole life…never slowed down. She enjoyed gardening and interior decorating. She enjoyed eating out and thrift store shopping became a staple in her later years. She was always picking up little things for people along the way. She never missed birthdays, special occasions or anniversaries. She had a knack for memorizing telephone numbers and was often referred to as the human telephone book.

Delma is a true definition of goodness. She prayed daily and led her life as she was taught in her childhood.

She leaves behind her son, Charles William Gordon; daughter, Wanda Jean Backschies; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Family received friends one hour prior to the service. Burial followed the service at White Stone Methodist Church.

Delma led a life of love and she will be greatly missed.
