Golden Eagle of Irvington LLC will host its fifth annual golf tournament in celebration of Steve Hansen, a founding member and trustee, on October 5 at the Golden Eagle Golf Course, 364 Clubhouse Road, Irvington. Registration is now open.
Hansen retired as the director of Fairfax County Parks and Recreation Department, one of the largest recreation facilities in the U.S. One of his major accomplishments was the developing and mentoring of a statewide recognized youth lifeguard program for Fairfax County public swimming pools. Hansen was always deeply interested and supportive of youth activities related to sports. It is therefore most appropriate that his tournament continues to sponsor local area youth golf and the Lancaster High School golf team.
