LHS opens district golf with a victory

Lancaster High School opened Northern Neck District golf play with a win, beating Essex by 27 strokes at Golden Eagle Golf Course on Wednesday, September 4.

Tyler Brent shot a 42 on nine holes to lead the Red Devils to a four-man total of 187. Essex had a 214 from its scoring four.

Isaac Hernandez shot a 43 and Thomas Major and Alex Fulmer had a 51 each to complete the Lancaster scoring. Ashby Russell and Miles Hollingsworth also played for the Devils.

Hunter Byrd shot a 47 as the Trojans low man. Jacob Durham had a 53, Logan Grave a 56 and Jamie Segar a 58.

The Devils dropped to 1-2 in the district and 3-5 overall with back-to-back losses to Northumberland on Thursday, September 5, and Rappahannock on Monday….
