Donor leaves a legacy of safety, fun at the Northern Neck Family YMCA

It is summer, and despite the impact of COVID-19, as the temperatures rise cooling off in the water is a summer tradition. The new Pauline “Pim” Montgomery Family Pool at the Northern Neck Family YMCA in Kilmarnock offers a spot to cool off and safely relax with family.

The setting is peaceful, and for the brave, there is the thrill of a reverse winding two-story water slide to enjoy, according to center executive Liz Allen.

Several years ago, Pim Montgomery envisioned a center where families and children could safely play and have fun around the water at the YMCA. Her generosity enabled that vision to become a reality. Montgomery, who passed away late in 2019, was able to be present at the grand opening in November 2019 and smiled from ear to ear as she toured the facilities.
