IRVINGTON—Doris Brown Christopher, 90, of Irvington, passed away February 2, 2022.
She is survived by her sons, John “Al” Christopher Jr. (Cathy) of Kilmarnock and Michael L. Christopher (Janet) of White Stone; son-in-law, Ronald Edwards; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Christopher, Jacob Christopher, Matthew Christopher, Drew Christopher, Ryan Christopher and Kassy Edwards; and four great-grandchildren, Clara Christopher, Virginia Christopher, Lucy Christopher and Laney Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lucille Brown; her husband, John A. Christopher Sr.; her daughter, Phyllis C. Edwards; her sister, Martha Conkle; and brothers, W. T. Brown and Mortimer Brown.
Doris was a member of Kilmarnock Baptist Church where she served as a deacon, assistant Sunday school clerk and former director of the Woman’s Missionary Union.
She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, at Kilmarnock Baptist Church. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 7, at Currie Funeral Home.
