On February 9, the Lancaster High School swim team competed against a combined team made up of the YMCA’s Masters swim team and the Competitive Stroke School. The meet was hosted at the Northern Neck Family YMCA Aquatic Center in Kilmarnock.
During 20 races, each swimmer’s individual time was registered and several lowered their personal bests. In the spirit of fellowship, team scores were not tallied, reported community development specialist Tom Martin.
“The opportunity to compete against the Striper and Stroke School team was a big step in gaining much needed experience,” said LHS swim team coach Mike Loser.
