IRVINGTON—School administrators on Tuesday, August 4, briefed the Lancaster school board on back to school plans.
High school principal Mike Myers shared plans for introducing students to new facilities before the school year was to begin. An orientation was scheduled for seventh and eighth graders and an open house Thursday, August 6, to help familiarize students with the new building and the expectations that come with high school. Since seventh grade was at the elementary school last year, this will be a new experience for both grades.
Myers also shared plans to separate upper and lower grades. In the mornings, students in grades 9-12 are going to get breakfast in the commons area or wait in the gym. Grades 7-8 will get breakfast in the commons area or wait at the stairs leading to the classrooms. “That’s going to be our routine as we start the year and we’ll see how that works….
