BALTIMORE, MD—Elise Taylor Galloway DeLeaver, 101, raised in Kilmarnock, died March 5, 2022, in Baltimore, Maryland.
She graduated from A.T. Wright High School in 1939. She joined Calvary Baptist Church in Kilmarnock at an early age. Once she graduated, she relocated to Baltimore and then to Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey.
In 1971, she married Benjamin F. DeLeaver and returned to Baltimore where she became a faithful member of Union Baptist Church and an active member of the Baltimore Calvary Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin F. DeLeaver, formerly of White Stone; and her oldest son, John Coates.
She is survived by her brother, Frank H. Galloway Jr. (Geraldine); her children, Byron Coates, Sheila Thomas (Francis) and Cheryl Hinton (Gary); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Union Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
