On May 24, Dr. Jason Perry was posthumously awarded the Rappahannock Commuity College (RCC) Educational Foundation’s Dr. Ralph D. Elliott Award for Outstanding Service to Workforce Credentialing and Continuing Education.
Dr. Perry’s family members accepted the honor from Dr. Ralph Elliott, who recently established the award to annually recognize excellence in workforce credential and continuing education instruction.
Dr. Elliott was reared in Richmond County where he “got his first taste of workforce development” working on his family’s dairy farm. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1962 and attended the University of Lynchburg and then N.C. State University. He built a career at Clemson University, serving as director of professional development, associate dean for executive education, and then vice provost for off-campus, distance and continuing education.
