Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Pierce, Peyton and Meredith Pittman; and her sisters, Fanniebelle Aldrich, Sue Warwick and Jane George. Her family rejoices in knowing she has been reunited with these loved ones.
Elsie was a devoted mother, grandmother (“Mammie”), sister, aunt and friend. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church for almost 70 years. She was well known for her delicious brownies, the many baby quilts she made and gave away, her gift of gab, and her ability to easily make new friends. She was an excellent bowler with years of perfect attendance at the Evans Bowling Center in Kilmarnock, where her record of high set still stands.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at White Stone United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 272, White Stone, VA 22578.
