On June 18, the Heathsville Farmers Market will offer a musical attraction in addition to the numerous vendors who sell their goods.
Five Mile Mountain Road will present an outdoor concert from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., sponsored by the Rappahannock Concert Association (RCA), reported publicity chairman Nellie Landrum.
Five Mile Mountain Road is an old-time band from Franklin County, said Landrum. Playing the fiddle, banjo, bass and guitar, the band offers a fresh approach to the old-time sounds of Charlie Poole and the fiddle music of Clark Kessinger, to first-generation bluegrass and original arrangements of western swing, ragtime and jazz reminiscent of the music heard at dance halls and theaters in days gone by.
Bring a chair and a hat, she said. The concert will be held, rain or shine.
