Lancaster dug itself into a hole and couldn’t claw out despite scoring twice in the fourth quarter to fall short, 14-20, to Rappahannock in varsity football last Friday.
The host Raiders held a 20-0 lead until Daveon Smith scored Lancaster’s first TD on a three-yard run in the final quarter. Smith led Lancaster’s ground game with 16 carries and 175 yards. He also completed 4-of-6 passes for 54 yards, hitting Ty Makulowich once on a 23-yard pass and Jaquarrius Morris once on a 17-yard toss. Brooks Parker also caught a 14-yard pass.
